Vulcathene has retained its British Board of Agrement (BBA) Approval, offering specifiers and installers of chemical waste systems reassurance it remains the only system BBA approved for laboratory drainage.
BBA has conducted audits at each of the manufacturing facilities that produce Vulcathene pipe and fittings, and reviewed all aspects of the manufacturing process, to guarantee they adhere to the relevant British and European quality and environmental standards.
The complete Vulcathene system has also undergone rigorous testing to make sure it complies with the strict BBA criteria.
The key elements of the system that were tested include:
– Strength – the pipes and system components will resist the likely loadings in service and during installation
– Performance of joints – joints remain watertight under movement and temperature
– Resistance to Chemicals – pipes and component materials will be unaffected by the types and quantities of chemicals likely to be found in wastewater
– Durability – the pipe and systems components are durable
The Vulcathene system has a series of new BBA certificates (number 19/5644) that cover pipes, couplings and fittings, bench items and floor gullies.
Simon Baugh, Building Services and Industrial Segment Manager for Aliaxis UK, commented on the new specification.
“This new certificate is excellent news as it reaffirms our position as the leading chemical drainage system on the market. BBA Approval is a very strict process and Vulcathene had to undergo a lot of varying tests to ensure its compliance,” he said.
“When dealing with unknown chemical combinations from laboratories, it is crucial that this waste can be safely disposed of and, being the only system BBA approved for laboratory drainage, Vulcathene offers specifiers, installers and end users complete peace of mind.”
Available in sizes from 38mm – 152mm, Vulcathene is a purpose designed laboratory chemical drainage system available in two easy jointing methods; Mechanical for demountable joints and Enfusion for welded joints, offering complete flexibility for designers and installers of chemical waste systems.
BBA approved for laboratory drainage, Vulcathene offers educational, research and healthcare establishments the reassurance that it has a 50 year design life.
