EJOT UK announces the appointment of Gary Robson in a new role, created as part of its strategy to continuously improve its service to customers and OEMs in the building envelope sector, as well as the broader construction industry.
Taking up the position of New Business Development Manager, Gary has lots of experience in the roofing and cladding industries. He has been at EJOT for 16 years, most recently as a sales engineer.
With a basis in his native Newcastle upon Tyne, he will initially support EJOT’s newly appointed regional sales engineers as they grow into their roles, whilst in the longer term his remit will include extending the company’s reach in new markets and strengthening EJOT’s relationships with major industry OEMs.
Gary’s extensive knowledge of roofing and cladding applications includes a number of specialist areas, such as rear ventilated or rainscreen facades and safety critical anchoring products, giving him a mix of expertise that will be ideally suited to his new role.
He is also a CFA (Construction Fixings Association) certified tester and an associate member of the Institute of Roofing, reflecting his deep understanding of fastener specification and best practice for the building envelope.
Richard Bowhay, EJOT UK’s Sales Manager for Market Unit Construction, says: “This is a really exciting time for EJOT and the next phase in the development of our UK sales team.
“We’re busy developing new team members for the future growth of the business which, in turn, will allow Gary’s experience and knowledge to be utilised in different ways as we partner with more of the roofing and cladding sector’s major players.”
Gary’s promotion to the new role is an example of how EJOT UK is bucking the trend by investing in, and expanding, its external sales team.
It is all part of EJOT’s commitment to providing market-leading customer support which extends to its team of technical specialists in its Applitec Centre at its UK headquarters near Leeds and within the worldwide Group.
