Ellis cable clamps secure cables throughout Hong Kong MTR

  • 26 Jan 2017

Ellis has supplied 125,000 cable clamps to CLP Power to secure power, pilot and fibre optic cables throughout the tunnels on the high speed Hong Kong MTR network.

The company’s one and two hole polymeric cable clamps have been installed on the Hong Kong section of the Express Rail Link (XRL) from West Kowloon to Shenzhen/HK Boundary, where it connects to mainland China. Once complete, the train will operate at a maximum speed of 200km per hour, cutting journey times by half.

Suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications, Ellis’ cable clamps are manufactured in black polypropylene or black flame retardant VO Zero Halogen Phosphorous (LSF) depending on the project at hand.

Tony Conroy, Ellis’ export sales director, commented: “CLP is the biggest power utility company in Hong Kong and we are its sole supplier of cable cleats and clamps – a relationship that speaks volumes for the work done by the team at Wang Yip Hong and why we put so much faith in local distributors when it comes to exporting.”

Ellis is now represented in 30 different countries around the world, with an ever-expanding network of local distributors ensuring the company is considered for major power, oil and gas, and infrastructure projects worldwide.
