Peterborough-based architectural and decorative casing solutions specialist, Encasement, has acquired Pendock, as part of its strategy to expand into new market sectors, while increasing production capacity with the addition of Pendock’s UK based manufacturing facilities.
Encasement was established in 2007 and has maintained consistent year on year growth, through the manufacture and supply of casing solutions to public sector and private business in sectors such as residential, retail, commercial and education.
A key part of the deal to purchase Pendock from building and engineering products company, Davidson Holdings, was Encasement’s commitment to retain Pendock’s workforce and continue manufacturing at the company’s well established operation in Telford.
This assurance has been further reinforced, with the signing of a new five-year lease on the building and the recent investment of more than £150,000 in building upgrades and new machinery.
Martin Taylor, Encasement’s MD, commented: “I believe this is an excellent development for both companies.
“By bringing together two specialised and complementary businesses it will not only make us jointly stronger, but also allows us to serve customers even more effectively in a demanding and continually evolving marketplace.”
He added: “Although we already manufacture in Europe, Pendock’s plant in Telford expands our production capabilities and provides greater capacity to meet a growing order book, as well as increased versatility and resilience to manage the potential impact of Brexit.”
Geoffrey Gestetner, Davidson Holdings’ MD, commented: “There are some significant synergies between the two businesses, which was one of the main reasons why we felt that Pendock’s future would be best served by joining with Encasement.”
He continued: “Clearly, we’re also delighted that Encasement has committed to continuity of employment for all staff, which was an important consideration for us in the sale.”
