Encasement’s pre-formed plywood casings have been the preferred solution for social housing RMI for decades and with the growth in fire sprinkler installations, boiler system upgrades and distributed heating system projects, this continues to be the case.
With over three decades of manufacturing experience in the sector, Encasement estimates that approximately 100,000 kilometres of its pipe and fire sprinkler boxing has already been installed in social housing sites nationwide to conceal interior pipework.
The company’s pre-formed plywood range of pipe and fire sprinkler boxing and boiler pipe casings can also help save time and money during installation.
As no on-site fabrication is required, they can usually be fitted in half the time of site-made alternatives. In addition, the range’s durable pre-finished white melamine surface allows further savings to be made, as there is no need for painting.
This time saving can provide a number of benefits for social housing RMI programmes, by helping ensure heating systems, boilers and fire safety upgrades can be completed within shorter timescales.
This minimises disruption for tenants and can also have a positive impact on improving maintenance and tenant satisfaction KPIs.
For exterior projects, where pipework such as gas mains and distributed heating system pipes require protection from accidental damage, theft, tampering and even vandalism, Encasement’s ‘Arma’ metal pipe casings provide a tough and durable solution.
Manufactured from strong, lightweight and corrosion resistant aluminium, Arma profiles can be readily secured to the external wall using heavy-duty aluminium angle brackets and suitable fixings.
Martin Taylor, Encasement’s Managing Director, commented: “From day one, we set out to manufacture and supply the most comprehensive range of pipe boxing and casings for the social housing sector and we now offer more than 200 different products, profiles and sizes within our standard range.
“Our Versa range of pre-formed pipe boxing has rapidly become a key solution for concealing retro-fitted fire sprinkler pipework in flats and communal areas, whilst the launch of our flame retardant Versa ‘FR’ boxing was a first for the market.”
