Environmental Business award presented to Recofloor

  • 31 Oct 2014

The award was presented in recognition of Recofloor’s Take Back and Recycling scheme

The Take Back and Recycling scheme was founded in 2009 by manufacturers Altro and Polyflor and has managed to divert nearly 2,000 tonnes of vinyl flooring waste from landfill since it began.

Based in Bramhall in Manchester, Recofloor offers collections of uplifted vinyl flooring and installation off-cuts to contractors and fitters across the UK, before recycling the materials back into new flooring and products such as road traffic cones.

Significant waste disposal cost savings can be achieved by companies using the national Recofloor scheme.

Recofloor Project Manager, Michelle Brewer, accepted the MEN Award at the October ceremony at the AJ Bell Stadium in Eccles in recognition of the company’s recycling achievements.

The MEN Environment Awards recognise the best environmental businesses, schools, community projects and individuals in the Greater Manchester area.
