Eurocell has helped to transform Nottingham’s Sneinton Market, specifying bespoke roof products to offer a combination of Victorian design and 21st century performance.
As part of Nottingham’s wide-scale regeneration programme, the redevelopment of Sneinton Market aims to transform the heritage area into the city’s answer to Covent Garden.
Since purchasing Sneinton Market two years ago, the city’s council has moved forward with its plans to refresh the site and make it a focal point for Nottingham’s creative sector.
The units on the site will be refurbished into workshops and studios for use by creative enterprises, encouraging tourists to the area and allowing the city’s creative sector to flourish.
As the project’s primary contractor, Wates appointed Derbyshire Floorcraft to refurbish the long lean-to roofs, which are integral to the market’s traditional aesthetic.
Eurocell was contracted to provide the expertise that would enable to company to replicate the market’s original design with contemporary materials.
Eurocell’s design and technical staff recognised the necessary conservatory roof components and identified the detailing that would allow them to meet the design brief.
The company modified one of Derbyshire Floorcraft’s conservatory roof products, producing it in a bespoke anthracite shade which compliments the heritage nature of the site.
The finished design corresponds with the original Victorian design, whilst offering 21st century performance.
