  • 15 Mar 2017

Polyflor’s wood effect luxury vinyl tiles from the Expona Design PUR collection have recently been used on a school hall refurbishment.

When Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools in Edinburgh required new flooring for their school hall, they chose Polyflor as the Expona Design flooring was performing well elsewhere int he school. Forever Flooring of Broxburn, Mid Lothian installed 315m2 of Expona Design PUR luxury vinyl tiles in the Walnut design.

The school was looking for flooring that would be in keeping with the traditional style of the hall interior whilst having the look of real wood and also being durable and easy to maintain, Mr Ryan from Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools explained.

The traditional Walnut design reproduces the appearance of natural wood, featuring rich dark tones, ideal for the old Victorian building. In addition, full plank perimeter detail was also installed with bespoke inlay strip supplied by Polyflor’s Design Service.

The heavy commercial Expona Design PUR luxury vinyl tile collection features 28 stunning wood, stone and abstract effects, providing years of performance in areas with high levels of foot traffic.

The hard wearing luxury vinyl tiles have a 3.0mm gauge, 0.7mm wear layer and are enhanced with Polyflor’s exclusive and robust PUR polyurethane reinforcement which is cross linked and UV cured to provide a fuss-free cleaning and maintenance regime.

Free Expona Design luxury vinyl tiles contain approximately 40% recycled materials and is 100% recyclable via the Recofloor vinyl take back scheme and are available on the Polyflor website.

In addition, the tiles achieve a BRE A+ rating for major use areas in the education sector and Indoor Air Comfort Gold, assuring that VIC emissions are below any globally determined levels.
