External wall insulation training for next generation of builders

  • 27 Nov 2014

More than £10,000 has been invested into industry training and work experience

With a nationwide skills shortage across all four corners of the UK, Wetherby is striving to help train the next generation of building professionals and prepare them with the skills they need to enter the industry and fill the gaps.

Wetherby is working with colleges and training providers to incorporate EWI modules into plastering and brickwork courses as many students are often unaware that the industry even exists, leaving it up to employers to organise the necessary training.

Trainers from Wetherby will be touring colleges across the country to carry out product demonstrations and workshops, as well as providing places on its professional training courses that equip students with the knowledge and skillsets to work on site.

The EWI sector has grown over the past few years since the introduction of government led energy efficiency schemes and there are still over seven million households in the UK that could benefit from installing the measures.

Wetherby Building Systems Ltd manufactures and distributes a wide range of external wall insulation systems, polymer modified renders, silicone and acrylic thin coat renders and brick slip systems.

The company’s insulated render systems have previously been installed on many domestic refurbishment projects, new build schemes, commercial buildings and educational establishments.
