Fibo provides Powys project with ideal bathroom solution

  • 20 Sep 2018

When Powys County Council started receiving complaints about the tiles in the bathroom, it chose Fibo bathroom wall panels as a better solution for the building.

Many of those who live in the building had been complaining that their bathroom tiles were not up to the job, therefore, leading to the decision to use panels.

Mike Jarrett, WHQS Contracts Officer for Powys Council explains: “Typical complaints included tiles becoming blown or hollow and falling off walls, the grout discolouring and general maintenance issues. But since we started fitting wall panels, the feedback has been excellent, with tenants confirming they are much easier to look after and keep clean.”

The panels make installation and maintenance straightforward and simple, with the ability to be installed within a day and fitted directly over any existing wall – even if it’s tiled!

Made from laminated ply to provide a more robust panel, and available in a wide variety of sizes, the panels were the ideal choice.

Mike continues: “The type of panel was an important consideration too. We have a number of tenants who have dementia or are blind or partially sighted. Therefore we had to choose a RNIB friendly panel. For this reason we specified Fibo’s traditional range in frost blue to be fitted in all properties where tenants express this preference.”

Powys County Council is extremely happy with Fibo’s range, service and support and plan to use their wall panels for future refurbishment and new build projects.
