Fibo wall panels transform Community Centre facilities

  • 25 Jan 2019

Prestige Property Maintenance Marlow Ltd (PPMM) has used Fibo wall panels to renovate the lavatories in The Hilltop Community Centre, High Wycombe.

The centre is run by the charity Wycombe Multi Cultural Organisation (WMCO) and has been in operation since 1995 – so by 2018, the toilet facilities in particular needed updating. With grants from the Biffa Fund and Wycombe District Council, WMCO was able to refurbish the male, female and disabled lavatories.

Rather than tile the renovated toilets, PPMM installed Fibo wall panels, supplied by builders’ merchant Plumb Plus.

Before and after

Penny MacColl, director of PPMM, commented: “They’re easy to install, simple to keep clean, great to look at and give long-lasting performance. They were the ideal choice for Hilltop.

“Tiling takes more preparation but with Fibo panels, panels can be fitted directly over tiles or to a frame over the existing surface.”

Hilltop selected a combination from Fibo’s Marcato and Classic Tile ranges. These both feature routed ‘grouting’ lines for an authentic finish indistinguishable from tiles – except there’s no grouting to clean and replace, no mould growth and no discolouration to spoil the appearance.

Maintenance is low: panels just need to be wiped clean. And with their 15-year guarantee, Fibo panels stay looking good for longer.

PPMM’s in-house fitters were able to install the panels quickly, with an immediate effect. The centre stayed open to the public throughout the work, and a speedy finish meant less disruption for the users of Hilltop.

Penny concluded: “The existing tiles were dated and not in great condition. The new panels look more modern and contemporary – more like a boutique hotel. They’d make a great feature in any bathroom.”
