  • 12 Dec 2016

A Smoke Heating Exhaust Ventilation (SHEV) system developed by Jet Cox has been installed at Egger’s UK advanced chipboard manufacturing plant to fulfil its strict Fire Safety requirements.

The comprehensive SHEV system, designed, supplied and installed by Jet Cox, combines a sprinkler system with 28 Jet-Vario-Norm Polycarbonate Pneumatic Rooflights. The units are thermally controlled with wind and rain sensors to offer full automation in the event of fire, whilst also providing day-to-day natural ventilation.

The system is one of the top selling solutions for both new build and renovation projects and has already been used by other Egger plants around Europe.

Jet-Vario-Norm Rooflights feature a high industrial prefabrication level, with reliable drainage and a clean appearance. The system is designed to European Standard BS EN 12101 for natural smoke and heat control systems and is suitable as a melt-out roof surface in accordance with DIN 18230.

Jet-Cox offer long term maintenance plans on the system to ensure its longevity and ongoing performance.
