Flood resilient new towns, Ecobuild previews + Teapot House for sale

We are expecting recriminations to rise as flood waters recede. However, what we really need is positive solutions to increasingly challenging weather patterns. Ed Milliband announced Labour plans for flood resilient new towns and garden cities around London. Let us know your ideas or if you have a new product that will make a difference.

I was at the Saint-Gobain Innovation Centre in London last week for the latest briefing about Ecobuild 2014 which is on 3-4th March at ExCel in London. Launched a decade ago, Ecobuild brings the industry together to see the latest products that are helping create a sustainable built environment. It is also an opportunity to network and hear from industry experts, ministers and VIPs. Here is a link to more details.

Buildingtalk has already previewed a number of products at Ecobuild including a new UK hybrid solar panel;  thermally efficient windows; energy efficient boilers; and automatic air vent systems. If you are exhibiting at the show and have something new – do send us the details via [email protected]

Housebuilding continues to boost the UK construction output with private sector housebuilding up 5% in Dec, up 21.6% from year earlier. However, if want a real bargain, check out the photo of the Teapot House that is up for sale for just £10,000.
