DC700G-FM door closer

Free-Motion door closer provides minimal opening forces for users

  • 2 Feb 2016

ASSA ABLOY has launched the DC700G-FM Free-Motion door closer, designed with a free-swing function and Cam-Motion technology to operate fire doors with the same low forces as non-fire doors.

Developed for door widths up to 1400mm, the DC700G-FM replicates the absence of a door closer whilst offering reliable closing in the event of a fire.

The door closer fulfils the requirement to present users with the lowest possible opening forces whilst retaining a high closing force in line with legislation.

The Free-Motion function is available from 0 degrees, ensuring low opening forces throughout the doors opening or closing movement for all users.

Barrier free access

Ideally suited for providing barrier free access, the DC700G-FM Free-Motion door closer meets the requirements of BS8300, Approved Doc M and The Equalities Act 2010 for building owners, users and visitors.

The door closers are also suitable for environments where users may struggle with the forces associated with conventional door controls.

Maximising safety

The DC700G-FM is designed to resume controlled closing operation after receiving a signal from a fire or smoke alarm system or in the result of a power failure. This is to ensure that fire or smoke compartmentalisation is assured at all time in any conditions.

David Hindle of ASSA ABLOY UK Specification commented: “The DC700G-FM is just one of many innovative products within ASSA ABLOY’s class-leading door closer range, showcasing our forward thinking and world-class engineering expertise.

We are proud to be the first to bring such a well thought through product to the market place, which epitomises ease of use, with maximum safety for the user.”
