Friaphon from Durapipe is BIM ready

  • 20 Mar 2018

Durapipe‘s continued expansion of its BIM portfolio has seen its Friaphon acoustic drainage system become the second of its product ranges to have BIM models made available this year.

This announcement means it can now offer BIM content for every single one of its building services systems.

BIM components can now be accessed for the entire Friaphon range of pipes, fittings and accessories, via download through the Durapipe website.

Together with existing BIM models for its SuperFLO ABS, HTA and Vulcathene Mechanical Chemical Drainage ranges, Durapipe’s new BIM content has been developed by bimStore, with all components ready to use in real project environments.

Commenting on the new BIM content, Durapipe Building Services brand manager, Des Dolan, said that because designers and consultants have been successfully using its BIM objects, it was therefore vital that they could offer a full BIM offering for its complete building services portfolio.

“The introduction of BIM models for Friaphon means designers and consultants now have the ability to design complete pipework systems incorporating all of our building services systems,” he said.

Friaphon is a purpose-designed sound reducing drainage system which offers outstanding sound insulation properties, when compared to traditional cast iron or lagged single wall plastic drainage systems.

This makes it a good choice for multi-occupancy buildings like hotels and apartments.
