Garador launches new and improved GaraRoll with DuraBelt Technology

  • 6 Oct 2022

Garador has developed an innovative new roller door concept that will lift its range of GaraRoll roller doors into an exciting new era.

Roller doors are one of the most popular designs for modern garages, but over time a build-up of dust and dirt on the surface of the door can cause abrasion on the paintwork which can lead to scratches and unsightly markings.

To combat this problem, Garador have developed the DuraBelt, a unique anti-scratch system that is specifically designed to reduce scratches and prolong the life of the door curtain. It is now supplied as standard on all of Garador’s GaraRoll roller doors in the full range of colour options.

Neil Discombe, Garador’s Managing Director, comments: “We are delighted to be able to introduce such innovative new technology into our range of GaraRoll roller doors. The new DuraBelt system is a breakthrough in roller door design.”

The belt itself is made from a microcellular polyurethane elastomer, that is more commonly found in the automotive industry because of its high abrasion resistance and its ability to withstand temperature related stress. The material also does not easily degrade when exposed to moisture, oil or grease.

The new DuraBelt system provides a protective layer between each lath as it rolls up when the door is opened. The unit is hidden under the fascia panel and because the material is relatively soft, there is less noise when running and no visible marking on the door curtain. By using DuraBelt with GaraRoll roller doors, tests have shown that scratches and marks are substantially reduced. The whole system has been developed exclusively for Garador’s GaraRoll roller doors and will provide continual long-lasting protection.

The new and improved GaraRoll also features a new control panel design complete with BlueSecur Bluetooth automation as standard, enabling homeowners to control their GaraRoll roller door using their smartphone via the BlueSecur app. The door also comes with two bisecur (868 MHz) hand transmitters as standard, for homeowners who prefer a more traditional remote control.

Neil Discombe adds: “We are confident that customers will be delighted with the new DuraBelt system and the improved performance it provides. The stylish new control panel with smartphone compatibility is also a significant upgrade.”

The GaraRoll features 77mm foam-filled laths and is available with internal and external fitting options. The door is available in a full range of custom sizes up to 6000mm wide and 3100mm high.
