Geberit apprentices install sustainability in Poland

  • 23 Feb 2017

Ten Geberit apprentices had their sanitary ware installation skills put to the test recently, following a working trip to Poland where they upgraded toilet facilities at a primary school in Warsaw.

Since 2008, every year apprentices at Geberit spend their time away from their everyday work to help out on a social project abroad as part of Geberit’s global social responsibility strategy.

The trip to Poland is the most recent assignment, for which ten apprentices with a technical manager and team coach travelled to Warsaw to install new toilet facilities at a primary school that hadn’t been renovated since it was built in 1949.

The toilets have now been fitted with Geberit Duofix frames including dual flush concealed cisterns, plus Geberit flush plates.

Sieglinde, team coach for the project commented that the experience was very rewarding and the personal commitment shown by the young people was impressive to see.

Over 70 Geberit apprentices have taken part in social projects globally since 2008, providing more people with access to basic sanitation and clean drinking water.
