Geberit HDPE awarded BBA certification

  • 24 Apr 2020

The British Board of Agrément (BBA) has awarded Geberit with a certification for its HDPE above ground drainage system.

The Agrément Certificate confirms the range of pipes and fittings complies to building regulations across England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Likewise, the specific and rigorous tests undertaken during the certification process are also in line with international standards.

Geberit’s HDPE above ground drainage system is suitable for a variety of commercial applications – its polyethylene composition means it is lightweight in comparison to traditional cast iron alternatives.

Some of the crucial factors assessed as part of the rigorous testing included the system’s strength, joint performance, flow characteristics, temperature resistance and durability.

A BBA Agrément Certificate is recognised as a mark of excellence across the industry. The certificate validates a product’s performance and cements confidence among contractors.

Routine elements of the testing process include inspecting the quality of the product, examining on-site procedures and conducting lab tests before a certificate can be awarded.

Greg Austin, Assistant Product Manager Drainage & Tooling at Geberit, commented: “BBA certification is highly regarded and recognised sector-wide as a mark of quality assurance.

“This really gives weight to the fact that our HDPE above ground drainage range offers reliability in application. We continue to work closely with the BBA to ensure we’re delivering innovative solutions which not only meet the needs of our customers, but also ensure the highest standards of safety and quality.”
