Staff at garage door manufacturer Garador have been supporting local charities in the run up to Christmas, with donations to a food bank and a hospice for people affected by life-limiting illnesses.
The company have helped food bank, The Lord’s Larder, and given a monetary gift to St Margaret’s hospice, both charities based in Yeovil, the same town as where Garador are homed.
Throughout the past two months, donations of food were collected from the entire workforce, with dried and tinned products including peas, beans, cereals, pastas, tomatoes and a whole lot more given.
Simon Hipgrave, Garador’s Managing Director, said: “I’m really pleased with the variety of food donated by the team here at Garador; everything from rice and beans through to tinned vegetables has been donated. The Lord’s Larder provides a great service in Yeovil to those in need and we are delighted to support them.”
The charitable gestures have gone well into December too, with a festive raffle, Christmas jumper day and a skittles evening , all for Garador staff, with more than £285 going to St Margaret’s Hospice.
Simon added: “We would like to thank all of the companies that donated prizes, which helped us to run a successful raffle and most importantly, raised lots of funds for St Margaret’s hospice.”
Garador have offered their thanks for the generousity of Yeovil Buildbase, Yeovil Town Football Club, Wincanton Racecourse, Jungle Jungle, Falmer Palmers, Yeovil Hobby Craft, The Manor Hotel Yeovil and Brimsmore Garden Centre Yeovil.
