GEZE UK invests in new sustainable packaging solutions

  • 15 Dec 2024

GEZE UK has continued its investment in sustainability and optimising operational efficiencies by installing three new packaging solutions at its Fradley HQ, from Ranpak: the FillPak TT, PadPak Guardian and Geami Wrap ‘n GoTM.

FillPak TT

The FillPak TT is a void filling machine that uses paper filler material to fill empty spaces (or voids) within packaging and lock items in place. This solution will help GEZE UK to stabilise and protect its customers products during storage and shipping, by preventing movement within the box, reducing the risk of damage caused by impacts or vibrations.

As a clean, efficient, reliable and flexible solution, the paper packaging material is dispensed on-demand at high volumes, allowing GEZE UK to use less packaging material. Additionally, the paper filler material is more sustainable than plastic alternatives, which GEZE UK was previously using.

PadPak Guardian

The PadPak Guardian is a compact, fast and simple cushioning solution, used to protect fragile items during shipping. Shocks and vibration are controlled by cushioning, significantly reducing broken box contents and subsequent returns.

GEZE

With its enhanced loading system, meaning paper can be loaded in 20 to 30 seconds, GEZE UK has already noticed significant reduction in the production time required to pack customers products. Furthermore, when a paper jam does occur, GEZE UK has been able to resolve it simply and quickly with a single button, reducing paper waste.

Geami Wrap ‘n GoTM

The Geami Wrap ’n Go™ converter expands environmentally friendly die-cut kraft paper into a protective 3D honeycomb structure, providing protection against scratches, surface abrasion and minor handling incidents.

GEZE

This modular design has allowed GEZE UK to meet its very own very specific packaging needs and has allowed for items to be wrapped securely without adhesive tape or cutting.

Kaz Spiewakowski, Managing Director GEZE UK, comments: “I am delighted to see the installation of our new packaging system, which enhances our production efficiency and sustainability credentials. These improvements not only reduce our environmental impact but also minimise the risk of damage during delivery, ensuring that our customers receive their products in perfect condition.”
