The Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) has named Russell Day as new Director of Home Improvement.
Russell will take over the role from Brian Smith, who recently left the Federation due to semi-retirement.
In his new position, he hopes to advance the GGF’s position in the Home Improvement sector, whilst ensuring that GGF Members are kept up to date with the best technical support and changes to Government policy and legislation.
Russell, who is a qualified engineer, boasts 25 years of experience within the window and door industry, having held positions in general management, sales, manufacturing, distribution and technical development.
During his time as technical director at Abott Joinery, Russell contributed to the development of new build PVC-window and cavity closer systems. He also worked in site installation, contract management and supply chain procedure development.
Before joining the GGF as a technical officer, Russell held a position in an Italian composite material systems company. Since being with the Federation, he has progressed to Senior Technical Officer and, most recently, Secretary of the GGF Heritage Window Group, Hardware Group, Insulated Glass Manufacturers and Glazing Components Groups and Systems House Groups.
Russell also chairs the industry’s Glazing Supply Chain Group.
