The Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) has announced its traditional Members’ Day annual conference will now be a new online event – Members’ Week.
The inaugural Members’ Week will take place on 29 September – 1 October, via video conference.
GGF Members’ Day incorporating the Annual General Meeting was originally scheduled for Manchester on 30 September. However, due to COVID-19 pandemic and the risk to health and safety, the event in its traditional physical format has been replaced with this new digital event.
The three day event will include 12 guest speakers/expert panellists and nine presentations/webinars and online forums covering: the economic overview, political landscape, health and safety, technical, marketing, training and the environment.
On the change of format and medium, John Agnew, GGF Managing Director. commented: “The current situation around COVID-19 has forced us into this decision but looking at the webinars, Members’ Week promises to be a unique experience, combining presentations from expert speakers and new technology.
“This kind of event has never been hosted by a trade body in our industry before and I am looking forward to an exciting week in September.”
For Members’ Week, the GGF has expert speakers lined up from the world of economics, politics, marketing, health and safety, technical and the environment.
With the event running over three days, Members have the opportunity to pick and choose which webinars to join, for the most useful information, tips and expert knowledge to benefit their business.
James Lee, GGF Director of External Affairs, added: “Members’ Week will be a new journey for the GGF with online webinars for practically everyone connected to the Federation.
“The technology we will be using will be video conferencing software that is now often used since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. It promises to be a great week and one that I hope all Members can take part in.”
The added advantage of Members’ Week going virtual is that all members will be able to access the webinar events and online forums from the comfort of their homes or offices – no need to spend time, money and go through the inconvenience of travelling.
