Government schemes enable renewable heating system installation

  • 17 Dec 2013

A Renewable Heat Premium Payment  offers grants of up to £2,300, whilst any household can get a £600 voucher towards the cost of a solar thermal system if they currently live in a property heated by mains gas, or use oil, liquid, solid fuel or electricity.

The Green Deal gives financial help towards energy-saving improvements to homes or businesses, with the amount offered depending on the estimated fuel bill savings from the installation.

The Renewable Heat Incentive, to be launched in Spring 2014, will offer support by paying the homeowner at a set rate per unit of renewable heat produced for seven years.
