Granada’s secondary glazing insulates iconic Bristol office building

  • 16 Apr 2021

Granada Glazing design, manufacture and install bespoke aluminium secondary glazing to improve both the thermal and acoustic performance of an original 1960s fenestration at One Redcliff Street. This is one of Bristol’s most prominent city centre office buildings.

Fitted without a timber surround to meet the ‘slimline’ specification, installation of the 342 Lift Out units took place in phases. This was to keep disturbance to a minimum.

Lift Out secondary glazing is an ideal solution for insulating windows that require occasional access. This is because removal is simple, for cleaning or maintenance purposes.

Granada’s Lift Out units are available in a comprehensive selection of designs. Frame finishes undergo powder coating to the required RAL colour. Secondary glazing can decrease heat loss by up to 65%, reducing a building’s carbon footprint and lowering energy bills.
