Leading GRP rooflight manufacturer Hambleside Danelaw has become the latest new member of the MCRMA, the trade association for the metal building envelope sector.
The move marks the company’s return to the association after a four year hiatus, supporting the industry to achieve the highest quality and performance standards when integrating rooflights into metal roofing systems.
As a member, Hambleside Danelaw will once again be able to play an active role in the development of the MCRMA’s highly respected technical guidance documents, as well as other industry support resources and training, and make its voice heard in consultations regarding future standards.
In addition, the company is also looking forward to building relationships with other MCRMA members who represent the complete supply chain for metal roofing and cladding.
Having manufactured GRP rooflights in the UK for more than 45 years, Hambleside Danelaw has a wealth of experience and expertise within its team to support metal roof system manufacturers, designers and installers. Its Zenon range is designed to provide environmentally conscious solutions to improve building energy performance, while reducing the carbon footprint of the building through the efficient and effective use of daylight.
Paul Hanratty, National Sales Manager at Hambleside Danelaw, says: “As a company we are firmly focused on quality and product performance, backed by data that comes from credible, undisputed sources.
“By renewing our involvement in the MCRMA, we know that we will be part of a group of like-minded businesses who share this ethos, and together I hope we can play our part in supporting the metal building envelope sector as the construction industry adopts new standards and ways of working.
“Rooflights allow up to three times more natural light into the internal space than a window/vertical glazing of the same size, but to realise the full benefits it is imperative that the roof is correctly designed to integrate them. We can help in this area, whether that is in relation to a new building concept or for retrofit, to maximise the asset value for building owners, and to enhance the wellbeing and productivity of occupants.”
Hambleside Danelaw’s Zenon range of industrial and commercial rooflights is manufactured from GRP and includes FAIRS (factory assembled insulating rooflight systems), barrel vault and site-assembled options. There is also an option in the range to meet more stringent sustainability targets, Zenon Evolution, which has a lower embodied carbon content than traditionally reinforced rooflights.
Clare Fenton, Chair of the MCRMA, comments: “We’re really pleased to welcome Hambleside Danelaw back to the association as their rooflight expertise will add great value to our membership, and give them the opportunity to build new industry partnerships with existing members.
“Metal roofing and cladding systems are playing an ever more important role in our built environment as sustainability and longevity expectations are raised, so it is fantastic to see our membership expanding with industry leaders like Hambleside Danelaw who can support all those involved in the supply chain to achieve the highest standards.”
The MCRMA (Metal Cladding & Roofing Manufacturers Association) is one of the building envelope sector’s longest established trade associations which supports the industry with a variety of technical guidance documents, CPDs and training.
Originally established as a small group of metal product manufacturers, today the association encompasses every type of business involved in the design, manufacture, testing, installation and maintenance of metal roofing and cladding for industrial, commercial or agricultural buildings.
