residential care homes, hospitals and education facilities such as primary schools and nurseries are the places that most commonly use LST radiators. Therefore, it is important to ensure that cleanliness is at it’s best to reduce the risk of bacteria spreading which can affect patient wellbeing and student attendance rates.
Contour coats its LST radiators with BioCote® antimicrobial technologies, helping to reduce the number of bacteria on the surface of the LST radiator, including MRSA and E.Coli. It’s been proven to reduce the presence of potentially harmful bacteria by 99% in two hours.
Because of the effectiveness of BioCote®, Contour recommends that LST radiators are cleaned with brushes or a non-abrasive damp cloth and that cleaning agents aren’t used. This prevents damage to the powder coating that could otherwise impact its effectiveness.
The most effective non-abrasive cloths to use are microfibre. These cloths are made up of material that is extremely fine, making it effective in gathering up and removing dust and small particles from the surface of the LST radiator.
Microfibre cloths are also beneficial in the cleaning of an LST radiators because they can reach the smaller areas where large brushes or vacuum cleaners wouldn’t be effective.
RotaRad are WRAS, KTW and ACS approved rotating valve kits. These can be installed onto existing radiators, as well as new ones providing that the radiators are piped up with BBOE connections to make access for cleaning much easier.
With RotaRad kits, the radiator can be bought down to floor level, giving access to the back and the wall behind it. It’s these areas where dust and bacteria can often gather because the warm, dark environment is harder to reach and clean.
With RotaRad, this issue is removed as LST radiators can be cleaned entirely which reduces the potential for dust and bacteria build up.
RotaRad features:
– Flame-free installation
– Simple and fast to fit and operate
– Reliable, safe and economic
– A design life of 50 years minimum
– Can be rotated through 360 degrees
– Slimline, unobtrusive and paintable
