The new designs will enhance all 93 guest bedrooms and bathrooms in the hotel, in addition to all public areas in the building. The project aims to honour the building’s architectural heritage as one of London’s most revered Regency landmarks.
Underflooring solutions specialists Schlüter has provided a range of products to the project, including its unique tile substrate Schlüter-KERDI-BOARD.
The tile substrate offers an ideal solution for creating bonded waterproofing assemblies for tile coverings and can also be used as a structural panel.
In addition to being completely waterproof, temperature resistant and vapour retardant, the lightweight product is a thermally insulating and easy to install. It contains no cement or fibreglass, making it eco-friendly, whilst its fleece webbing allows for easy anchoring in thin-bed mortar.
The refurbished Lanesborough guest rooms will also feature Schlüters’ DITRA-HEAT-E underfloor heating system.
The all-in-one integrated heating solution can be used under tiles and natural stone flooring, and features loose heating cables fixed down to the uncoupling mat free of tape, as a result of its unique studded design.
The systems’ design promises to cut installation time by up to 70%, also offering optimum freedom for creating concentrated heating zones and providing uniform spacing without the need for measuring and marking.
Carl Stokes, Head of Marketing at Schlüter-Systems Ltd, commented: ñWe’re delighted that two of our most popular products have been used in the extensive refurbishment of such a prestigious hotel.
Making installation of under floor heating simpler and easier than ever before, Schlüter-DITRA-HEAT-E really does tick all the boxes whilst Schlüter-KERDI-BOARD makes it quick and easy to create the flattest and most even substrate to tile.î
