IG Masonry Support brick slip masonry support and brick slip columns helped transform an office building into apartments in Central London.
The apartment building, situated in Westminster, required high levels of craftsmanship to achieve the brick feature corbel led columns, adding character tot he build.
IG facilitated the re-cladding of the existing concrete and steel columns, providing an offsite solution to the lack of storage space and limited space to conduct the installation.
Various bespoke 6.5m tall brick slip columns were designed by IG, consisting of 44 individual units that could be completed offsite and delivered, minimising storage requirements.
IG Masonry Support’s offsite feature brick columns blended seamlessly with the surrounding brickwork, allowing the intermittent glazed brick detailing to be maintained throughout.
In addition, a corbel led feature was incorporated into the front elevation of each column, produced in factory controlled conditions, weeks in advance. Therefore, this ensured no quality issues or down-time on site.
Finally, Lee Marley’s brickwork team enabled the installation process to be executed with precision.
