A new Roofing and Waterproofing Guide has been released by IKO PLC for schools and academies.
The guide highlights the tell-tale signs of a failing roof, and includes guidelines on independent advice, design, installation, inspection and guarantees, aimed at head teachers, facilities managers and local education departments. The guide also covers information on funding.
IKO’s Specification Division’s Director, Ashley Chivers, explains that it is important to maintain and improve roofs to ensure they are waterproof, energy efficient and secure in order to protect the building. Regular inspection and maintenance are crucial to avoid long-term problems such as water ingress which can result in damage to the fabric of a building, with significant associated costs and hazards.
With extensive experience in helping schools with repairs, refurbishment maintenance, extension and new build projects, IKO PLC can transform school roofs into outdoor play or learning areas.
