Inclusive shower and bathroom products launched by Mira

  • 13 Jul 2016

Mira Showers has developed a comprehensive range of inclusive showering and bathroom products, which have been designed to meet the needs of all vulnerable users.

The products in Mira’s new range have been designed to enable those that are incapable of washing and showering independently, whether they are elderly, an infant or disabled.

Boasting endorsement from the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB) and a number of accreditations – including BEAB CARE, TMV2 and Waterwise – the showering, bathing and hand washing products can be fitted in new homes on existing shower and sanitary ware.

Thermostatic shower controls

Mira has catered for all types of British domestic water systems, taking pressure and temperature into account. Thermostatic shower controls work to ensure the safety of its electric showers and contemporary mixers, which utilise ‘Eco’ water efficiency technology.

The company has manufactured a variety of TMV2 and TMV3 controls, which protect against scalding and ensure compliance with Part G of the Building Regulations. Its Excel EV thermostatic mixer offers high flow performance, with the security of temperature control and a manual override button.

Boasting the BEAB CARE mark for safety, Advance ATL Flex offers inclusive, thermostatically controlled showering. The system’s inclusive design ensures that it can be used by anyone: the RNIB has endorsed it for use by the blind and visually impaired, whilst specialist fittings, such as long lever and non-touch taps, can be adapted to suit the requirements of disabled users.

Safety bathroom products

Mira’s range of trays, enclosures and wall panels are equally suited to multi-generational housing. Manufactured from acrylic-capped resin stone, the trays and panels benefit from BioCote, which reduces mould growth and bacteria to improve safety.

The Flight Safe range of anti-slip shower trays have been tested to Class C DIN 51097’s barefoot ramp test: the subject remained standing when the tray was at an angle of 30o.

All products are listed in Mira’s publication entitled ‘Inclusive Showering & Bathroom Products for Housing Communities and Adaptions’.
