Set to return in October after a successful event last year, UK Construction Week will host several new industry awards and an entertainment programme for the benefit of its visitors and exhibitors.
On the first evening, UK Construction Week will host a black-tie gala at the Vox venue, in celebration of the first Construction Enquirer Awards.
The awards are open to contractors, suppliers and clients; an industry vote will determine the Top Ten candidates for each of the twelve categories and the ultimate winners will be revealed on the night, to an expected audience of 500 people.
UK Construction Week will also play host to the Concrete Awards, as part of the Surface & Materials Show, the Infrastructure Awards, as part of Civils Expo and the BIM Awards, in partnership with the Building Research Establishment (BRE).
In addition, visitors to the event will be able to attend the STA’s Structural Timber Awards.
On the entertainment front, UK Construction Week will provide free entry to its beer and ale festival for all exhibitors and visitors. The festival has been designed to offer a sociable space for those at the show to enjoy and unwind.
There will be over 30 craft ales and a selection of gourmet food options from a number of stalls surrounding the venue, as well as live music.
The Genting International Casino at Resorts World Birmingham will also be hosting a dedicated UK Construction casino night on the second evening of the show.
Other events include a breakfast briefing with Gelnigan and the Construction Products Association (CPA) and the launch of ITN Productions’ ‘Foundations for the Future’ news programme at the Build Show. At Grand Designs Live, the National Custom and Self Build Association (NaCSBA) will be announcing the winner of its ‘Self Build on a Shoestring’ competition.
