Innovative fixings from Swifix for external wall insulation systems

  • 27 Oct 2016

Swifix has launched a range of fixings designed for refitting and installing through external and solid wall insulation systems.

The fixings can be used either during installation or post-installation, providing a cost effective and maintenance free solution that ensures the integrity of the external wall insulation system.

Manufactured from recycled plastic, the fixings have been tested by the BRE for strength, compression and load. The range is made up of five basic fixings, ideal for installing anything from satellite dishes, down pipes and washing lines to hand rails, fence and gate posts and canopies, back through the EWI system.

Available in black and white as standard, the water resistant fixings are also available in bespoke finishes to complement the render.

Whilst current standard practice relies on the use of timber for re-fixing external items through the EWI/SWI system, this can create performance issues for the system and long term degradation of the timber. The Swifix range ensures the system is protected long term, backed by the majority of the UK’s largest EWI system manufacturers and the National Insulation Association (NIA).

The fixings are available direct from SWIFIX Ltd and from various distributors and builders merchants throughout the UK.
