MoCoCo House provides safe and appropriate housing for young adults

Statistics have shown that many teenagers are being allocated unsafe accommodation after leaving local authority care.

In response to this, CRASH launched a refurbishment project to transform an old bus garage into suitable housing for MoCoCo, a charity based in Cheshire.

MoCoCo approached CRASH with the aim of turning its inhabitable former bus shelter into living quarters with a small laundry room and a warden flat.

Knauf Insulation contributed to the project by donating 65 rolls of its Earthwool Loft Roll insulation.

The insulation has been developed to improve the thermal and acoustic performance of a building.

Knauf supplied MoCoCo House with the insulation products required to provide its residents with a warm living environment

Manufactured using ECOSE Technology, which is based on renewable materials, the insulation has zero Ozone Depletion Potential and no Global Warming Potential.

It is, therefore, an ecological product which has been manufactured in accordance with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.

Since the fitting of Knauf’s insulation and the completion of the project, a young man has moved into the accommodation; others are expected to follow shortly.
