Jewson raise over £150,000 for its together’ charity partner Macmillan
Jewson, the UK’s leading supplier of sustainable timber and building materials, has raised over £150,000 for its together’ charity partner Macmillan. The events included:
This flagship fundraising event attracts hundreds of riders every year to cycle a total of 2,500 miles.
Jewson’s contractor sales team completed The Monopoly Walk, visiting every London location on the famous board game.
Jewson’s Tool Hire specialist branches launched a series of pop up van washes for customers across the North of England.
These, and countless other fundraising activities demonstrated the ‘exceptional commitment’ of customers, suppliers and staff, helping Jewson to raise a staggering £150,000 for the cancer support charity.
Peter Stringer, Managing Director at Jewson: Since the launch of the together’ charity programme in 2002, we have helped to raise over £2.3 million helping to make a positive difference to the lives of thousands of people. Without the amazing support, drive and commitment from our colleagues, customers and suppliers we would not have been able to reach such a fantastic fundraising milestone.
Catrin Hale, Partnership Manager at Macmillan: We have been blown away by the dedication from Jewson employees on all levels this year in their fundraising for Macmillan. The £150,000 raised this year will go towards funding our Macmillan nurses, who provide vital emotional and practical support to people affected by cancer. Macmillan wants to be there for everyone that is affected by cancer, and we simply could not do this without the support of fantastic partners like Jewson.
For the first time, Jewson’s charity partner was chosen after all 6,000 employees were invited to have their say on which charity they would like to support in an online vote, in which Macmillan emerged as the clear favourite.
