Johnstone’s Decorating Centre makes over Jets Cheerleading Club

  • 20 Jan 2016

The Jets Cheerleading Club recently received a £500 refurbishment as part of an exclusive community makeover competition in Enniskillen.

The Jets Cheerleading Squad has recently moved into a new industrial space which was selected by judges to receive a colourful makeover.

Using the £500 donation, the team were able to purchase the materials and equipment needed to make over the club’s main hall, offices, kitchen area and toilets. The team opted for a grey and white theme to complement their purple practice mats, as advised by Johnstone’s specification team.

Designed to provide a durable finish which is highly resistant to scratches, Johnstone’s new Quick Dry Polyurethane Flortred was applied to the existing concrete surface in a pale grey. The products quick drying formula meant that the floor could be walked on again just six hours after application, allowing the squad to resume training as quickly as possible.

Johnstone’s Stormshield Smooth Masonry was applied to the exposed blockwork walls inside the building. Stormshield has been developed with excellent dirt resistant properties, ensuring the walls remain in top condition for years to come.

The space also features a mural painted by one of the senior members of the squad using Johnstone’s Magnetic Blackboard paint, allowing members of the club to add their own personal touches to the space.

Majella said: “We were absolutely over-the-moon when we found out that we’d won the Johnstone’s makeover competition. It’s made such a difference being able to design our new club house just the way we wanted straight away – we would never have been able to finish it off the way it is now without Johnstone’s.

It’s been a real team effort, the girls have enjoyed getting involved and we’re all so excited now it’s finished. We had our first training session the other day and everyone was motivated and raring to go!”
