Lifeline system redeveloped to support bitumen membrane roof installations

  • 12 Sep 2016

Kee Safety has redesigned its KeeLine Horizontal Lifeline system to safeguard the installation of bitumen membrane roofs.

Recent research, conducted by Technavio, has revealed that the global roofing market is expanding rapidly. The company estimated a growth of around 30% over the next four years; the largest increase is predicted to be within the bitumen roofing sector.

To take advantage of this forecasted growth, Kee Safety has redesigned its wire-based lifeline system, the KeeLine.

KeeLine Lifeline system

Designed to deliver incessant fall protection in areas, such as roofs, where guardrails cannot be fitted, KeeLine can support up to three contractors.  It allows them to move freely around the roof to carry out the necessary repairs, maintenance or inspection work without restriction.

It now incorporates a redesigned post and base plate for use on bitumen membrane roofs. Enhanced safety features – such as toggle fixings, robust rivets and a slimline corner design – have also been included.

The lifeline system allows for spans of 12 metres between posts; the brackets enable the user to travel along the horizontal wire without detaching.

KeeLine offers comprehensive compliance with industry standards such as EN 795 2012, ANSI Z359, CEN TS 16415:2013 and CSA Z259. It has been proven suitable for use with a variety of roof types, including standard seam, composite panel and metal profile.
