Mapei launch base coat Mapetherm Flex RP

  • 12 Mar 2018

Mapetherm Flex RP, from Mapei, is a ready-mixed, cement-free flexible skimming base coat; extremely elastic, it is resistant to the biological attack of mould and algae thanks to added Bioblock technology.

Developed by Mapei’s worldwide Research & Development laboratories, this new product is outstanding for repairing deteriorated insulating systems.

Thermal insulation systems provide protection from inclement weather, helping to contain energy losses that can be expensive and see carbon dioxide levels rise.

These systems can need maintenance, even possibly having to be entirely removed and replaced. If the damage deterioration has been identified quickly enough, repairs can be carried out using a technologically suitable product.

Mapetherm Flex RP features versatile characteristics used to carry out repair and maintenance work which is efficient and aesthetically pleasing. An innovative use of resin ensures Mapetherm Flex RP is very elastic, whilst also adhering perfectly to insulating panels, old and new render, organic and cementitious skimming compounds, paint and coatings.

Mapetherm Flex RP can also be tinted using the Mapei ColorMap automatic coloring system and furthermore, an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) has been produced for the product by Mapei.

An EPD is a complete certified report prepared according to international standards, documenting the effects a product has on the environment.
