MCRMA pledges its support to CCPI as a Trade Associate

  • 26 Feb 2025

The MCRMA has signed up as a CCPI Trade Associate, formalising the association’s commitment to supporting and promoting the Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI), and its aims to raise standards in construction product information and marketing.

As the industry association solely dedicated to the interests of the metal cladding and roofing industry, the MCRMA represents a large and growing number of companies involved in the design, manufacture, testing, installation and maintenance of metal building envelopes.

CCPI registered companies

Several MCRMA member companies are already CCPI registered, including Fixfast, Knauf Insulation and Siderise Insulation, and a number of others are currently going through the assessment process with a view to securing their registration in the coming months.

Carlton Jones, Director of the MCRMA, comments: “All MCRMA member companies already agree to operate and comply with the requirements of the association’s Membership Charter, which includes pledging to undertake all work in accordance with relevant health and safety legislation and abide by industry best practice.

“But we also believe the CCPI’s aims should be reflected in our association given how the accuracy of product information is crucial for everyone in the metal building envelope supply chain to deliver safe, high quality, sustainable and best value projects. Amongst the key objectives of the CCPI are building back trust in construction product information and marketing and driving positive culture change across the sector, and we wholeheartedly support these aims.

“By becoming a CCPI Trade Associate, we are now able to express our support for the initiative more formally and we hope this encourages more companies across the building envelope sector to register their products, whether they are MCRMA members or not.”

The CCPI was initiated and developed by the Construction Product Association (CPA), of which the MCRMA is a member, in consultation across the built environment sector as a direct response to Dame Judith Hackitt’s review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety set up in the wake of the Grenfell Tower tragedy. CPA continues to play a leading role promoting and galvanising engagement with the CCPI.
