Award winning training provider Mitsubishi Electric has announced the availability of three nationally recognised qualifications delivered at its Hatfield Training Centre.
These have been developed in collaboration with leading industry bodies including the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (CIPHE), the Heat Pump Association (HPA) and the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).
The courses are designed to equip experienced heating professionals with the knowledge, confidence and competency required to design, install and maintain low temperature heating and heat pump systems in domestic dwellings, in line with current and emerging industry standards.
Heating engineers could be eligible for a discount of up to £500 towards the cost of heat pump training.
Katie Webb, Customer Training Manager at Mitsubishi Electric, comments: “As the industry moves rapidly towards low-carbon heating, it is essential that installers are equipped with the right skills, knowledge and confidence to design and deliver high-quality systems.
“By delivering LCL Awards–certified, Ofqual-accredited training at our Hatfield Training Centre, we are ensuring professionals have access to rigorous, industry-led qualifications that reflect real-world installation standards. These courses have been developed with leading bodies such as CIPHE, the Heat Pump Association and MCS, and demonstrate our commitment to raising quality, consistency and competence across the heat pump sector.”

Level 3 Low Temperature Heating and Hot Water Systems in Dwellings
This course is for delegates with two-to-three years’ experience in the heating sector. By the end of the course, they will have a good understanding of industry standards, regulations, system configuration design, enabling them to conduct room-by-room heat loss calculations, correctly size heat emitters, size pumps, pipework and domestic hot water systems.
Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Heat Pump Systems (Non-Refrigerant Circuits)
This three-day Level 3 course is aimed at professionals with a heating background seeking a nationally recognised qualification in heat pump installation and maintenance. Delegates who complete the course will achieve a full Level 3 LCL-accredited qualification, covering both theoretical knowledge and practical competency.
LCL Award – Water Regulations Certificate
This one-day course is for people who typically have a minimum of two years’ plumbing experience. It covers the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 and is a prerequisite for several renewable technology qualifications, including the Level 3 Heat Pump Installation and Maintenance Award.
