The Grade I Listed historic town hall of King’s Lynn, Norfolk has benefited from the installation of a hydraulic Maxilift 2.0 MRL (motor room-less) passenger lift.

Specified by architectural design company, Trundley Design, the 8-person lift has enabled people of all mobilities to access the building’s wide range of facilities which are housed across two floors.

The 800 year old building features hireable function spaces such as a mediæval Stone Hall and the Georgian Assembly Room, in addition to the newly opened Stories of Lynn exhibition, set within the vaulted undercroft of the 15th century Trinity Guildhall.

Finished in satin stainless steel, with a sliver half-height rear mirror and bubble ceiling on the interior, the passenger lift at King’s Lynn town hall included additional handrails, bump rails and chequer-patterned aluminium flooring, as well as extra-wide 900mm doors to enable maximum ease of access.

The Maxilift is compliant to BS EN 81-73:2016 and features a voice evacuation intercom control, developed to meet the guidelines of BS5588 Part 8, for the evacuation of people in the event of a fire emergency.

Like all Stannah lift products, the passenger lift is covered by Stannah’s lift service plan, which includes six service visits, with continued lift maintenance by its East Anglia branch.
