Following decontamination, most mould-afflicted properties will require some redecoration; Safeguard Europe now offers a choice of products in its Dryzone range to deliver a high-quality decorative finish to stained walls and other surfaces.
The first is Dryzone System Mould-Resistant Emulsion Paint, which provides lasting protection against the effects of condensation and is easily applied over standard paint finishes.
The second, Dryzone Mould-Resistant Emulsion Paint Additive, can be used to make any paint mould-resistant, as well as confer the benefits on grout and wallpaper paste.
When redecorating using either product, the surface must be prepared as it would be for normal re-painting and then walls, ceilings, window frames and joinery must be treated with Safeguard’s Dryzone Mould Killer to remove any traces of mould. Two coats of mould-resistant paint are then applied using a brush or a roller.
The washable paint comes in brilliant white, magnolia and a selection of pastel colours. Supplied in five litre tubs, it gives an average of between 10 and 12 square metres coverage per litre, although this depends on the porosity of the substrate.
The paint will be touch-dry in an hour, with between two and four hours required between coats.
The additive is compatible with all known water or solvent based paints and comes in 100ml bottles. Emulsion paints require the additive in 20ml per litre; while gloss paints need 10ml.
The Dryzone System from Safeguard is a complete rising damp renovation range, delivering permanent damp proofing solutions; from preventing moisture ingress through to specialist replastering and mould-resistant decorating materials.
Safeguard Europe’s range of market-leading, proven damp-proofing solutions is supported by the company’s own highly qualified and experienced staff.
The support and know-how they offer is extended to contractors, specifiers and property owners and includes technical advice, specification help, research and even in-house laboratory analysis of plaster and masonry.
