Nationwide launch next generation GRP fire door range

  • 25 Sep 2020

The vital role that fire doors play in protecting people has never been more compelling as it has been in the past few years – Nationwide Windows & Doors has devoted time, clever product design and testing at levels never previously seen to launch its next generation GRP fire door range.

As one of the UK’s leading fenestration partners to social housing and new build, Nationwide’s expertise in fire doors makes it the ideal partner of choice when it comes to large scale replacements or new installation programmes.

John Whalley, Nationwide Managing Director, commented: “The country has witnessed what can happen when things go wrong, and the tragedy of Grenfell is still very fresh in our minds.

“That’s the reason that we’ve dedicated so much time and effort into ensuring that our newly launched fire door range has been third party, independently accredited at every stage of the fire door process – from site survey to manufacture and installation – giving specifiers, landlords and residents complete peace of mind.”

With one of the most technologically advanced purpose-built door manufacturing facilities in the UK, Nationwide is one of only a few companies to have been awarded the prestigious Q Mark by BM TRADA in recognition of their process control from start to finish.

Nationwide offers a complete GRP fire door solution for the surveying, manufacturing and the installation of GRP fire doors.

The fire doors are proven to keep fire at bay for more than 30 minutes against temperatures of 900°C Celsius, tested in accordance to EN 1634 for fire and smoke.

They have also been designed to successfully pass the BS 6375 Weather Performance Test and have been independently tested to both British and EU standards BS 8529.

Offering unrivalled security, the system meets the rigorous testing requirements of enhanced security standards PAS24 and Secured by Design and is Approved Document Q compliant.

With four door hinges, letterplate, spy hole, closers and specialist hardware, the Nationwide GRP fire door provides architects and specifiers a complete low-maintenance and thermally-efficient solution.
