Natural stone paving for police training centre

  • 19 Feb 2015

Brett Landscaping provided the training centre with its Fens Moss Yorkstone paving and its Omega block paving which are both manufactured using UK sourced natural stone

The new Carr Gate training centre has been developed by Interserve to house training facilities for West Yorkshire Police.

The training school, which has been built for use by the police force’s new recruits, has been finished with cedar cladding to give it a natural appearance.

The ground-working contractor for the project, Howard Civil Engineering, aimed to specify natural stone paving for installation outside the building to compliment its aesthetic.

Brett Landscaping presented the contractors with a choice of UK sourced natural stone paving solutions.

After considering the options, Howard and Interserve specified 1,200 square metres of Fens Moss, a Yorkstone flag paving from Brett Landscaping’s natural stone range.

The stone is supplied as a single sized flag in a blue/grey tone.

It was combined with 600 square metres of Brett’s Omega block paving in Burnt Oak, which was used for a pedestrian ramp.

Whilst advising on the product selection, Brett Landscaping also offered its technical support and guidance throughout the installation.

Its advice adhered to the relevant British Standards for natural stone installation; the company provided foundation recommendations and informed on the depth of beds needed.
