Senior Architectural Systems have had its aluminium glazing solutions used for two new college contracts in the North of England.

Collaboration and repeat business with major supply chain partners has seen Senior’s glazing packages specified for Blackpool & Flyde College’s new Lancashire Energy HQ and the Advanced Skills and Innovation Centre (ASIC) at the West Yorkshire-based Wakefield College.

Seeing aesthetically pleasing slim sightlines meet incredible thermal performance, the building envelopes of the respective buildings have certainly benefitted from Senior’s impressive aluminium door, window and curtain walling system ranges.

The Lancashire Energy HQ (below photo) features a sustainable design scheme which has a living green wall and an energy-efficient glazing package.

Senior’s SF52 aluminium curtain walling has ensured bettered thermal performance and slim sightlines, ideal for creating the college’s double-height atrium and faceted entrance, which see Senior’s SPW500 aluminium doors used.

Senior’s thermally-broken SPW600e aluminium windows are another addition, which will contribute to the building’s BREEAM rating of ‘excellent’.

The ASIC building at Wakefield College in West Yorkshire (top photo) features the same specification of aluminium fenestration solutions from Senior, with the SF52 curtain walling complementing the masonry brickwork and coloured cladding panels.

The slim profile of Senior’s SF52 curtain walling system and SPW600e aluminium windows conjure a welcoming and relaxing environment to learn.

Fabricator and installer throughout the project was Aire Valley Architectural Systems; its sales director, Chris Kilvington, said: “Senior consistently ticks every box and has an extensive product range which they are always looking to add to. This in turn allows us to offer the best package to our clients.”

Mark Wadsworth, Senior’s MD, commented on the importance of developing and maintaining strong partnerships, because close collaboration and early engagement with the project team can add value.
