  • 11 Mar 2022

Leading provider of access solutions, dormakaba, has a new branch in the Midlands. The new Willenhall site opened on 1st February and comes part of the specialist supplier’s commitment to providing greater customer reach and support.

The Willenhall site was previously occupied by 1st Access Group Ltd, an award-winning local security manufacturing business. Its acquisition, by dormakaba, took place in 2020.

Since then, the 33,000 square foot premises have been rebranded to serve as a central hub for dormakaba’s service and maintenance arm in the Midlands, as well as the manufacturing of its bespoke products including automatic doors, curtain walling, shutters, windows and manual doors.

With a rich history in security and engineering, the location is of particular interest for access and security specialist dormakaba. Having once been the home to ‘Keys of Steel’ and ‘Willenhall Locks and Keys’, one of the largest employers within Willenhall, dormakaba aims to continue the site’s legacy and build upon its design and engineering heritage, whilst driving innovation and service excellence for its customers.

‘An important development’

Ricky Walker, Solutions Delivery Director at dormakaba, says: “We are delighted to open our new Midlands Service branch, which will not only strengthen our national presence in a location of key strategic importance, but also offer exciting job opportunities to the local area. This facility is an important development for us as we continue to grow to meet customer demand.”
