New, Easy-to-Read Executive Summary Report from BMBI

  • 27 May 2022

The award-winning Builders Merchant Building Index (BMBI) report is now available in a new Executive Summary format. This will provide industry professionals with a snapshot of the month’s key data and analysis in a short, easy-to-read format.

Ideal for builders’ merchants and other construction executives who want to stay informed about the latest trends in Repair, Maintenance & Improvement (RMI) building activity, the Executive Summary is available for all monthly reports.

The Summary includes 10-pages of analysis and data including the latest monthly sales highlights, an overview of the month’s biggest category winners and losers, and easy-to-follow graphs which chart performance of the 12 product categories compared to previous years, quarters and months.

The full, in-depth report remains available too with over 60 pages of detailed analysis, data and charts on building industry trends. Every quarter, the reports include insights and comments from a panel of leading industry brand experts that explain trends, issues and opportunities in their markets.

‘Accessible to all’

Mike Rigby, CEO MRA Research who produce the reports, comments: “We work in a fast-paced industry and there’s not always enough hours in the day to catch up on essential reading.

“With this in mind, we created a compact Executive Summary of each month’s main report to give time-pressed professionals the key facts and trends they need to know at a glance. It’s just another way we’re making the BMBI’s industry insights accessible to all.”

BMBI, a brand of the Builders Merchants Federation (BMF), uses data from GfK’s ground-breaking Builders Merchants Panel, which analyses sales-out data from over 80% of generalist builders’ merchants’ sales throughout Great Britain. The trend series, first published in 2015, is a free-to-use  resource which can be downloaded from the BMBI website or sent directly to subscribers every month.

The Quarter 1 Executive Summary report, published in May, is available at www.bmbi.co.uk.
