  • 3 Jan 2017

Clos-o-Mat has supplied and installed a Changing Places facility in The Iron Duke, a new JD Wetherspoon’s pub in Wellington.

JD Wetherspoon has been recognised for its inclusive, wheelchair-accessible toilet facilities on a national level. Clos-o-Mat has fitted Changing Places WCs in a number of Wetherspoon’s pubs across the UK; The Iron Duke is the latest to incorporate the away from home assisted accessible facility.

All toilets at the pub, including the Changing Places, can be accessed directly off the main bar. Entrance is gained via RADAR key.

Changing Places

Changing Places toilets are considered ‘desirable’ under Building Regulations Approved Document M 2015, and BS8300:2009, for all new build and refurbishment projects involving public buildings.

Under British Standards, the facility must provide a minimum of 12 square metres and include a peninsular toilet and washbasin. It also features additional equipment, such as a height-adjustable adult-sized changing bench and a ceiling track hoist.

Changing Places facilities ensure that children and adults, who need the help of a carer, have the appropriate space and equipment to fulfil their personal hygiene requirements. Thanks to the services provided by Clos-o-Mat, over 900 are now open across the UK.

The company offers design advice, project management and maintenance services, in addition to supply and installation. Its website acts as a reference point for contractors; downloadable resources include white papers, standard layouts, videos and both 2D and 3D CAD drawings.
