New recruitment business set up for construction professionals

  • 8 Jun 2017

Unite People has launched a new construction recruitment business and website, providing recruitment services to skilled professionals and contractors operating in the Civil Engineering, Construction, Rail and Residential Development sectors.

With the UK Government announcing plans to invest £500bn in infrastructure improvements, the boom in construction activity and the HS2 project on the horizon; Unite People is well positioned to capitalise on the increasing demand for highly skilled construction professionals.

The three founding partners, Tom Perkin, Ross Bayston and Colm McGinley, are all experienced in growing and scaling market-leading construction recruitment businesses. At Unite People, they have created a five-year business plan which includes opening of a network of offices across the UK and significant revenue growth.

Ross Bayston, Joint Managing Director, said: “I want Unite People to be recognised as an honest, consistent and efficient recruitment service that truly embraces partnership both with our candidates and clients. We aim to build Unite People on referral based business and intrinsically understand the people that we work with both professionally and personally. We are passionate about people and recognise that sometimes, within our industry, the human element can become secondary to individual endeavours –  we will ensure the people will always remain our priority.”

Tom Perkin, Joint Managing Director, said: “For me, our aim is to help contribute to the development of the Construction Industry by connecting top talent with progressive organisations. By becoming a part of the McGinley Group, we are able to hit the ground running and ensure faster growth compared to stand-alone recruitment start-ups.”

Colm McGinley, Investor & Director, added: “Unite People will be of massive service to the development of UK construction nationwide. As an industry that experiences change on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, it’s important that a recruiter can adapt and develop quickly and with great intelligence. Unite People is that business.”
