Nortek announce new chairman for the European committee for standardisation

Nortek Global HVAC (UK) Ltd has appointed Danny Packham as chairman of CEN/TC180, a European committee that is active in setting performance, emissions & energy consumption regulations.

CEN, the European Committee for Standardization, is an association that brings together the National Standardization Bodies of 34 European countries.

CEN is one of three European Standardisation Organisations (together with CENELEC and ETSI) that have been officially recognised by the European Union and by the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) as being responsible for developing and defining voluntary standards at European level.

CEN provides a platform for the development of European Standards and other technical documents in relation to various kinds of products, materials, services and processes.

CEN oversee many of the smaller, more specific bodies and regulate best practise across a range of industries, notably heating.

Under this appointment, Danny will assist with the CEN/TC180 Primary objective to prepare European standards for:

– Non-domestic, overhead, gas-fired radiant tube heaters
– Non-domestic, overhead, gas-fired radiant luminous heaters
– Non-domestic gas-fired air heaters
