PASS recognised as FLIR Platinum Partner for third year

  • 1 Jun 2015

Operating out of Stockton-on-Tees, PASS has been a distributor for FLIR since 2006, and has since expanded its FLIR inventory to cater for a wide range of applications, including for wildlife tracking, law enforcement and automated process monitoring.

FLIR Platinum Partner status awards companies that have performed to high standards and provide FLIR products.

“Around a decade ago, not many people knew about thermography,” said David Atkins, Sales Manager and Certified Level 1 Infrared Thermographer at PASS.

“It’s a constantly growing market and to cater for this, we’ve worked closely with FLIR for years to offer the kind of expertise that customers need to learn more about thermography and thermal cameras.”

Increased popularity

There has been increased use of thermal cameras in recent years due to the products wide list of applications; which includes detecting errors with electrical distribution board components to detecting heat loss from poor insulation in buildings.

“Building cameras in particular are always growing in popularity, as are cameras for general use. FLIR’s new technology means that the cameras are much more available and affordable to individuals than they have been previously, which has led to more people using FLIR cameras,” said David.

Thermography training

The recent boom in people using thermal cameras has also led to a rise in demand for training services which PASS offers to camera users to help grow their abilities.

PASS provides training for both beginner and experienced thermal camera users in how to operate the equipment. Candidates can learn the basics of thermography, practical uses and gain full accreditations such as Level 1 Thermography (ISO18436 PCN).

In the future, PASS will continue to work closely with FLIR to offer future thermal imaging cameras, product innovations and knowledge to those interested in thermography.

“We’ll keep working to the standard that both FLIR and our customers hold us to,” said David. “It’s important to us that we’ve received this recognition, and we’ll always make sure we continue to improve to keep our FLIR Platinum status.”
